5/19/2023 0 Comments Export from indesign to powerpointOnce you have single page PDF documents, they place nicely into inDesign. I do this a lot, so I use a program called ARTS Split and Merge Wizard to split the document (available at for $149). Now, what you want to do is split the PDF into individual 1 page documents for easy placement. Unless there were bitmap images placed in the presentation, you know have a resolution independent version. To export the InDesign file as an IDML file, go to File > Export > InDesign Markup (IDML) and save the file. Go to the File menu, choose Export and as we saw before, you could choose either every slide or just the current slide only for some of these formats. This will give you one pdf file containing all the slides, fonts included. ![]() When you are back at the main print window, select "scale to fit paper" and then hit ok. Select any other options you need in the tabs, and hit ok. ![]() Enter your dimensions (7" x 10" is the standard PPT file aperature), and hit ok. In the paper/quality tab, click Advanced and go to paper output > paper size and select 'PostScript Custom Page size'. You must first export the InDesign document to an Adobe PDF and then convert the PDF to a PowerPoint document either in Acrobat or PowerPoint itself. Select the conversion settings (I usually use the default Print setting) then, make sure to uncheck 'Do not send fonts.' - if you don't - if you don't, expect major problems when preflighting the document. Select properties, and go to the Adobe PDF settings tab. ![]() In powerpoint, go to print and select acrobat distiller. This will automate the process of picking a template, naming files, export proofs & prints & natives, and possibly even uploading files to. How to Convert a PowerPoint PDF to Adobe InDesign CS6-CC 2018, with PDF2DTP: To convert all pagesin a PDF, click the Markzwaremenu item in your InDesign menu bar (in a version from CS6 through CC 2018), click PDF2DTP, select Convert PDF, select the PowerPoint PDF (or hold down the Command key to select multiple PDFs), then click Open. I spend a lot of time placing powerpoint into InDesign.
